"Wee Wee Man!!!"
"Wee wee man, wee wee man!" Kendyll was singing. Her little ears had picked up the faint sounds of the ice cream man. It was just after 7 tonight, so at first I told her no. Besides, she skipped her nap at Marta's and she was going to be going down earlier tonight, and it was too close to bedtime to be eating ice cream. But Robert really wanted to buy her some so I changed my mind. I know... I give in too easily and I know that it will come back to haunt me. In no time at all they were out the door and headed down the driveway to find some good eats. Robert let Kendyll pick which ice cream she wanted and you will see down below which one she picked.

Lunch
I am so excited to be home with Kendyll this summer. Now that she is talking more, it is nice to have a conversation with another person during the day. Granted, she is only two, but you get the picture.
Kendyll decided to have another picnic lunch today. So she dragged this basket off of the stairs and into the living room. At first, she was sitting on the basket, along with her grilled cheese and lemonade, watching her favorite... SpongeBob. Of course, when I went in for a picture, she made her "cheese" face. And now she likes seeing her picture after I take it, so she runs over and takes a peek and laughs.
I told Kendyll to smile and this is what I got... CUTE!

Family
On Father's Day, we went to my parent's house to celebrate. We ordered in from Red Robin (it's easier that way). After dinner and playing outside, Taylor decided to make brownies, and Kendyll quickly agreed to "help". Look how excited she is...
Mixing the brownies... ADD has set in!
One day, Kendyll and I were playing in our bedroom, and she put the radio on. The song that was on was Boogie Shoes. We laid on our backs on the bed, put our legs in the air, and kicked our feet to this tune. Ever since then, she has been addicted to that song. That's why it is on the playlist at the bottom of this page. She'll even sing part of "Oogie Shoes" for you if you ask! My mom put the song on her laptop and the dancing started. They had a great time.
Even Dada joined in on the fun!

Okay, ADD has set in again... this is a great picture anyway despite the fact that Kendyll isn't looking.

Refreshing Water
We finally broke out the kiddie pool the other day because we have been in the high 90s for a few days. Mimi and Papa bought Kendyll this cool wading pool for her birthday (actually, they gave her a slip n slide first... but that is a whole other hilarious story). This pool has sprinklers and blow-up features. Unfortunately, you can't see the blow-ups in these photos because I couldn't find the attachments for the air pump (they are blown up now). But Kendyll still enjoyed the pool anyway. She, of course, did not look at the camera because she's two, and they don't act on command. She had a BLAST!!! We spiced it up by adding her "whee" to the pool... that's what she calls the slide. The water was freezing cold, but refreshing on this scorching day. Don't mind the mess around the pool... that's leftover from the building of the shed and has been gradually making its exit from our yard. Enjoy the pictures below!

Num, Num
Tonight, after dinner, Kendyll wanted to have a "num num"= yum yum. She scurried into the kitchen, straight for the fridge. I was offering either a banana or strawberries (which she has taken a HUGE liking to lately). When I opened the fridge, she saw the rice pudding. Of course, she had to have that. I opened it up, she dipped her spoon in it, and if you know Kendyll (Dada, Mimi, Maggie, you know what happens next), she did NOT want to eat it. Surprise, surprise. She just looked at it for a minute, and she didn't even let the spoon get near her mouth. She realized that this was something she didn't want. Then she looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes and said, "No, brown." I knew she would want the chocolate pudding from the get go and couldn't figure out why she just didn't grab it in the first place, but that's Kendyll for you. Below you can see her eating the "brown" pudding (low fat, by the way), and I ate the rice pudding.

Good Times
Tonight was a bath night... which Kendyll just LOVES! So when I finally pried her out of there, I had to dig for some summer pjs in her bottom drawer. Since we live in a colonial, it gets mighty warm upstairs to say the least. Well, before I could finish looking, Kendyll had climbed in and claimed the bottom drawer as her new bed, complete with a night-night (blanket). I was able to catch a few cute pictures of her, enjoying a party in her new "crib".

Keek-A-Boo
Tonight, Robert started playing peek-a-boo, or as Kendyll says, "keek-a-boo", and she had a BLAST! They would run and hide from each other, wait a while, and then search each other out. It usually ended in a squeal of delight from Kendyll. When she would hide, she would say "shhh..." then slowly creep out to find Robert. Below you'll see her final, creative hiding place. Can you spot her????
How cute is this picture??? It isn't related to the above pic, but I wanted to post it because it is absolutely adorable. Kendyll and Mimi were playing behind her couch on Memorial Day when I caught this candid shot. Usually when Kendyll sees a camera, she turns away, but this time, I was lucky!

Taylor is 12!
Happy Birthday, Taylor! I forgot to publish this post yesterday, Taylor's actual birthday. Sorry! Kendyll goes to Maggie's house on Mondays and Fridays while I go to work. Well, when I picked her up on Friday, she wasn't thrilled to be leaving, especially since "Tay-Tay" was home from school AND playing with her outside. As we drove away, Kendyll was saying, "Dendyll's Tay-Tay, Dendyll's Tay-Tay." She sure does love her Tay-Tay!

Going to the Lake
It was Friday Family Fun Night, and we were near Lake St. Clair, so we decided to stop at a park with Kendyll. This was her first time seeing a lake close up and lately, Kendyll has been OBSESSED with water. First, let me say, that St. Clair Shores is very stingy with the way it let's people access the lake. In order to get in any park, you have to be a resident... so that was out of the question. We kept driving up Jefferson, and Robert saw this little park open to anyone in Harrison Township. When we first got out of the car, a couple was leaving with their fish that they caught. The women wanted Kendyll to see the fish, and she was excited about it. Then we ventured out onto the boardwalk... it was quite cool there... that's why Kendyll is wearing her hood. Of course she was more happy to see the park than the water. We had a great time sharing this experience with her.
As Kendyll would say... "Keek-a-boo!"
